Race for the Rivers Scheduled for Saturday, Sunday in St. Charles

Kayakers and Canoers will race to St. Charles down the Missouri River. Festival Saturday offers chance for families to get involved.

This weekend, the annual Race for the Rivers kayak and canoe race will wrap up in St. Charles with a festival in . 

More than 50 teams will compete in one of three races down the Missoouri River, either 20, 41 or 65 miles. Most of the races are expected to wrap up on Saturday. 

The festival will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Frontier Park and features information booths from groups like the Living History Company, the St. Charles Area Radio Club and Friends of the Big Muddy.

Food vendors include Missouri Grillers and Roasters, Schlafly Beer and Kona Ice. A kids area features rain gutter races, upcycle crafts, water play and more.
