Readers Weigh In On Tilted Kilt Uniforms
Tasteful? Sexist? Readers share their thoughts on Facebook.
If there's one thing St. Charles residents enjoy, it's trying out a new restaurant or bar.
Last week, in March garnered several comments from fans on Facebook and our site. The waitresses at the Celtic-themed Tilted Kilt restaurant wear costumes consisting of knee-high white socks, a plaid skirt and plaid bra with a midriff-baring white shirt.
The restaurant's website says, “A cold beer never looked so good.”

Dan Foust was a fan of the uniforms. "Beauty with style...very nice," he said.
Holly Bohl said that she won't be patronizing the restaurant. "Sexist. Won't go there."
@zenironman offered his opinion on the uniforms via Twitter saying they are, "Something tasteful and professional, making their parents proud and bringing high-class dining to St. Charles?"
Amy Bornfleth Bartoni said she's not a fan of places where women dress like this. "I don't see (sic) 1/2 naked men working there, serving me. If they did it to both genders, then I wouldn't care as much."
Jane said she'd like to see some men wearing kilts. "WOMEN?! wearing kilts? darn it. I'd hoped it would be hunky guys....a la' Highlander, Rob Roy, Braveheart....."
Sandy Bornfleth pointed out that whether you like the uniforms or not, the new restaurant is good for the city. "Williker's (the building where the Tilted Kilt will be located) has been empty for years," she said.
We asked a public relations representative for the restaurant whether men would be employed there and, if so, what their unforms look like. We'll update when we hear back.
