Republicans, Democrats Team Up Against Campaign Sign Theft
Reward will be offered for information leading to the arrest of those who damage or steal campaign signs.

St. Charles County Democratic and Republican party officials have promised to fight against campaign sign damage and theft.
Both chairmen of the St. Charles County political central committees agreed to offer a $250 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for damaging or stealing political signs.
“We are very serious that the integrity of the election process must be maintained, and not denigrated by those who would wish to take others’ voices away, simply because they disagree with them,” said Morton Todd, chairman of the Democratic Central Committee in a press release.

Jon Bennett, chairman of the Republican Central Committee, said each year signs are stolen, burned and torn although they are on private property.
“If you are callous enough to trespass and take away peoples’ First Amendment rights, both the Republican and Democratic Parties of St. Charles County are going to seek your prosecution,” Bennett said.
