Riverside Shakespeare Cancels Sunday Matinee Due to Heat

Temperatures are expected to reach 103 on Sunday.

The Riverside Shakespeare Company's performance of  will go on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. but the Sunday matinee scheduled for 2 p.m. has been canceled.

"There is just no way," Producer Chris Ferguson said in an email. "Too hot in the afternoon and the forecast has not changed."

Ferguson said turnout was good over the opening weekend, in spite of the heat. This weekend, they're planning to go on with the evening shows, hoping it will cool off by the time the show starts.
