Steinhoff Asking for Vote Recount After Slim City Council Loss
Bryce Steinhoff lost his bid to become a St. Charles City Council member by just four votes. By law, he's allowed to ask for a recount and that's exactly what he's doing.
Bryce Steinhoff is exercising his right to a recount of his four-vote loss to City Councilwoman Bridget Ohmes on April 2, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Ohmes reclaimed her seat on the city council with 482 votes, just four more than Ohmes' 478.
State law allows a candidate to ask for a recount if they lose the vote by less than one percent of the total votes cast in the race.

Elections Director Rich Chrismer said he expected a judge to schedule the recount for sometime next month, the Post-Dispatch report said.
During the April 2 election, council members Jerry Reese (Ward 6) and Rod Herrmann (Ward 8) also won reelection to their respective seats.

And councilmen Dave Beckering (Ward 7) and Ron Stivison (Ward 9) won reelection while facing no opposition.
