Truck Rolls Through Fence at Saint Peter Church
Police closed Second Street while a tow truck boosted the truck back onto the parking lot.
wasn't in session Monday afternoon when a delivery truck rolled down the parking lot and through the fence facing North Second Street.
Onlookers stopped to check out the truck as it hung over the edge of the parking lot, held back by the broken chainlink fence.
The truck's driver, who gave his name as Jim, stood by while tow truck operators hooked up a boom to push the truck back up onto the parking lot.

Jim parked the Hughes Customat delivery truck facing the fence around noon outside of St. Peter Catholic Church.
Had school been in session, the truck wouldn't have been able to park on the lot, as the gates are closed for recess.

Jim said he put the emergency brake on before he went inside. Then he heard the crash.
The owner of Hughes Customat said they inspect the trucks regularly and hadn't had trouble with this one.
A few parishioners stood by watching tow truck operators boost the truck up and back onto the parking lot. A St. Charles Police Officer closed part of Second Street.
One parishioner suggested a special emergency collection for fence repair on Sunday.
Senior Associate Pastor Father Fred Meyer patted Jim on the back. "I hope you know this isn't your fault," he said.
This isn't the first time the church has had a vehicle drive through its fence. About six months ago,a Rolls Royce broke through the fence, in almost exactly the same spot, said Don Moxley, parish business manager.
That driver was able to hop in the car and drive away.
