Watch the Transit of Venus from St. Charles County Park
The Venus Transit across the sun is the last time it will happen this century.
Tuesday night will be the last time that people on Earth will be able to see the Transit of Venus during this century, which is when Venus passes in between the earth and sun and appears as a dot.
The Astronomical Society of Eastern Missouri is hosting a viewing at Broemmelsiek Park. The start of the transit will be around 5:04 p.m. with full transit at 5:22 p.m. The event will end at sunset, or around 8:25 p.m.
The event will be viewed through telescopes with solar filters and eclipse glasses will be handed out, although it may be difficult to see the transit without the help of magnification, according to the ASEM website.
