  • A man faces domestic abuse charges after St. Charles County deputies said he bloodied his fiance’s nose on May 10. Robert G. Devine, 55, of the 3300 block of Cross Keys Drive in Florissant, was charged Friday with third-degree domestic assault.

  • A St. Charles man on probation since September for dealing drugs, faces another drug dealing charge after police say they caught him with heroin on May 4. Marcus L Brownlee, 25, of the 100 block of Cole Boulevard in St. Charles, was charged May 6 with distributing a controlled substance.

Public Works Day is a Hit With Kids

  • Gloomy skies couldn't keep the kids away from the 10th Annual St. Charles Public Works Day on Friday. The event, held at St. Charles Soccer Complex Park, gave preschoolers the chance to learn all about the public works department and the services it performs for the city.

  • A St. Charles man hit and kicked his 79-year-old mother, breaking bones, bruising and cutting her on May 6, police said. Daniel M. Quirk, 43, of the 300 block of Oakleaf Drive in St. Charles, was charged May 7 with second-degree elder abuse.
