Brand New St. Louis Firetruck Struck By 'Inattentive Driver'

"Oh, btw, Truck 4 is one of our newest trucks," the department wrote on Twitter. "Like $750K new!"

ST. LOUIS, MO — The St. Louis Fire Department said one of its trucks was struck by another vehicle yesterday due to an "inattentive driver." The crash happened while firefighters were responding to another accident on Interstate 55. No one was injured.

"Anything that distracts you from safety operating your vehicle can wait," the department posted on Twitter, adding the hashtags #texting and #itcanwait.

Officials said the truck was one of the department's newest — "like $750K new."
