ST. LOUIS, MO — Police say a man shot and killed a worker during a robbery at Dollar General on North Grand in north St. Louis' Fairgrounds neighborhood Thursday afternoon.
It happened just after 1 p.m., the Post-Dispatch reports. Witnesses said the shooter was wearing sunglasses, a dark blue hoodie, sweatpants and a red baseball cap when he came into the store and told workers and customers that he was robbing the place. He was armed with a semi-automatic pistol, black and silver with an extended magazine. It's not clear exactly why he started shooting, but authorities say a 40-year-old worker was hit and died at the scene.
