Halloween Night Turns Deadly In St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO — Halloween night wasn't just creepy in St. Louis, it was deadly. KSDK reports one person was killed and seven others injured in shootings across the city Wednesday night.

The first shooting happened Wednesday afternoon in the 2800 block of North Grand Boulevard, south of Fairgrounds Park in the north city's Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood. Police said a shooter in a Chevrolet Impala fired shots into a moving vehicle, causing the driver to crash into a tree. One man was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.

About an our later, police found 39-year-old Percy Kinzer dead in the 5000 block of Maple Avenue, a few blocks south of Sherman Park. Officials say he had been shot multiple times.

Just after 9 p.m., a man escaped a kidnapping attempt in the north city's Tiffany neighborhood. He was shot in the arm in the process and suffered lacerations to his head and hands.

Around 9:30 p.m., two men aged 18 and 29 were shot in the 900 block of Harlan Avenue, west of Hickey Park.

Three other men, aged 28, 32 and 44, were also dropped off at area hospitals with gunshot wounds, according to Channel 5.
