Man Shot Escaping Kidnappers In North St. Louis Wednesday Night

ST. LOUIS, MO — Police say two men in ski masks tried to kidnap a man in St. Louis on Halloween night. The kidnapping failed, but the victim was shot during the struggle.
The Post-Dispatch reports the attack happened east of Tiffany Park in the north city shortly after 9 p.m. In addition to a gunshot wound, the 55-year-old victim also suffered lacerations to his head and hands.

Police did not release a description of the man's assailants. It's not clear why they were trying to kidnap him.
