St. Louis County Received First Vaccine Shipment Tuesday

Tuesday, the St. Louis County Department of Public Health received a shipment of 975 doses of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine.

Tuesday, the St. Louis County Department of Public Health received a shipment of 975 doses of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine. It was the first shipment received by the county. St. Louis County Department of Health. "This is a great day for the St. Louis County Department of Public Health and a great day for the region, in that we have gotten some doses," said Chris Ave, spokesperson for the department of health. "975 doses of the Pfizer vaccine. We're very excited to start [giving] this vaccine to frontline medical workers. There are the people who are the most at-risk because these are the people who are helping fight COVID-19." The vaccines were placed in cold storage at a secure DPH facility, and the county will begin vaccinating Tier 1A employees this week. Those receiving the doses are healthcare workers that have patient contact, which includes about 275 DPH clinical employees. County health officials will continue vaccinations for 1A workers across the county until notified by the state to proceed to the next category.
