St. Louis County And St. Charles County Offer Pre-Registration For COVID-19 Vaccine

The counties said they will follow up with residents once they are eligible to receive the vaccine according to the state's tier system and when appointments are available.
"Once we reach a new tier and there are different groups of people who are in that tier, we will go by roughly who signs up first," said St. Louis County Health Department spokesperson Christopher Ave. "So that's why it's important to understand how to sign up, to watch the tiers, to understand what tier you're in and then communicate with us when that tier is called."

For St. Charles County, click here. Both counties are still working to identify and vaccinate people in the 1A tier - frontline healthcare workers. St. Louis County health care workers who are in the state's 1A category can request more information by emailing: dphcovidvaccine@stlouisco.com. Those who qualify as 1A will be added to the vaccination list. The County said it's possible they could distribute all 975 doses they received by the end of the week. According to the county, the state has approved other providers to vaccinate those within the 1A category but has not identified those providers yet. "We are certainly looking at plans to use big public spaces down the line once the vaccine becomes available to the general public to go ahead and set up temporary stations to vaccinate people," Ave said. "We want to get as much vaccine available to the public as we possibly can, right now we're limited by the supply chain and the state's authority as to who can get the vaccine but as time goes on the vaccine is going to become more available, so there is really hope at the end of this pandemic." St. Charles County says while anyone can sign up, they are currently focusing on those in group 1A and are waiting to receive guidance from state health officials before moving to group 1B.
