Duchesne'sΒ Abby Smegner had quite the showing at theΒ Class 3, District 4 meet. Smegner pacedΒ the field in the 800 with her first-place time of 2:20.8 to win the District title.
Her winning ways didn't stop on the track.Β Smegner was able to take the field in the St. Charles County Athlete of the Week voting.Β Smegner racked up 38 percent of the votes to win the award.Β

The Duchesne girls track team thrived in the longer-distance races duringΒ Saturday's Class 3, District 4 meet. The Pioneer girls won both the 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter relays. The other race win came in the 800-meter run viaΒ Abby Smegner. The Duchesne runner topped the field in the 800 with her first-place time of 2:20.8.Β Smegner crossed the finish line a second before the second-place runner to claim the District title.Β
