Police: Stolen Gun Found in Storm Drain

Recovered Stolen Property
- A pistol, reported stolen in 2010 in St. Charles County, was discovered near a basin in the 100 block of South Willow GroveΒ after a heavy rainfall. Police believed the stolen gun was hidden in the storm drain and was pushed out. The gun was heavily damaged from weather conditions.

- A demo Smartphone was stolen from a store in the Β 9000 block of Mid Rivers MallΒ by an unknown person.
Fatal AccidentΒ
- Ruth Thimmig, a 91-year-old St. Peters resident atΒ Oak Tree Village Retirement Living, was pronouncedΒ dead at an area hospital following a car crash. On Tuesday morning a second person, Donald Gemienhart, 90, of St. Charles, died atΒ SSM St. Joseph Health CenterΒ from injuries sustained in the crash. Β According to a release from theΒ St. Peters Police, the initial investigation reveals a 42-year-old female in a 2009 Honda Civic crossed the center lane of traffic and struck a 2012 Chevy Sonic head on. Police said Thimmig was the passenger in the vehicle andΒ Gemienhart was the driver.
