St. Peters Aldermen Have Busy Day Ahead with Three Meetings

Thursday night will be a triple-header for the St. Peters Board of Aldermen at the Justice Center. 

In addition to the usual combo of work session and regular meeting, the board will have a special meeting to replace the recently resigned Gus Elliott. At 4:45 p.m. Mayor Len Pagano and the board will meet to approve or deny the appointment of Terri Violet for the vacant Ward 3 seat. 

Following the special meeting the board will return to its regularly scheduled program of 5 p.m. work session and 7 p.m. meeting. 

The work session agenda is fairly full for the board. The board has two items for discussion, the first is a stop sign removal at Maple Tree Drive and Golden Hills Drive. The other item deals with proposed road work.

Last week citizens were able to voice their opinion about proposed changes along Interstate 70. One of the proposed changes was making the outer roads into one-lane roads, a plan many business owners appeared to not be in favor of. Board President Rocky Reitmeyer has prepared a resolution to oppose the one-way roads betweens Spencer and Cave Springs. 

Also on the work session agenda:

• A discussion about a potential agreement with East Central Missouri Water and Sewer Authority.
• A breifing on a fuel tank/dispenser at the Justice Center that needs to be replaced.
• A plan to enter into a cost apportionment agreement for I-70 & MRMD Bridge Enhancements  with MoDOT.

Following the work session, the board will have it's regular meeting. The board will have several recognitions to start the meeting. 

A new police officer, John R. Aebishcher, will take the oath of office. Following him will be a presentation for Jim Karll on his retirement and a recognition of Keith McNames, Chris Winslow and Pat Kelley for their work with Prop P.

Also on the meeting agenda the board will vote on nine items of new business and one old business item.
