St. Peters Resident Nominated for Fire Safety Education Board

St. Peters resident Robert Wylie could soon be among the newest members of the Missouri Fire Safety Education Board.
Last week Missouri Governor Jay Nixon announced nominations to 18 boards and commissions. Wylie (R) was one of three chosen to serve on theΒ Fire Safety Education Advisory Board, joiningΒ Eric S. Latimer (I) of Nixa and Michael Mahler (D).Β The Missouri Fire Education Commission works to provide continuing education to fire service throughout Missouri.
Wylie is currently the fire chief of the Cottleville Community Fire Protection District and a tactical medic/team leader for theΒ St. Charles County Regional Swat.Β From 2005 to 2009, he served on the Governorβs Homeland Security Advisory Council and currently serves as a member of the IAFC Professional Development Committee, vice-chair of theΒ St. Louis Regional Response System, chairman of theΒ St. Charles County Local Emergency Planning Committee.Β He is also a member of the Missouri Fire Safety Advisory Council.Β

The Governor has nominated him for a term ending Feb. 8, 2016.
The nominees will be subject to confirmation by the Missouri Senate, with the exception of the appointment to the Appellate Judicial Commission.Β
