State Swimming Championships Hit the Rec-Plex
The two-day event to crown the girls State swimming and diving champions begins Friday at the St. Peters Rec-Plex.

Once again the Missouri State Swimming and Diving Championships are coming to St. Peters.
Girls swimmers from all across the great state of Missouri will head to the pool at the for the annual final meet of the season. St. Peters has hosted the event for the last several years and will once again by the site for the 2012 championships.Β
The two-day event begins on Friday with the preliminary swimming events. Heat after heat in every event will take place until the field is narrowed for Saturday's championship races.Β

Saturday will open up with the diving portion of the meet. Divers will have the preliminary rounds before jumping into the pool for the championship rounds. Once the diving winners have been crowned, the swimmer will reclaim the pool. The championship races will begin and the team, and individual, State Champions will be recognized.Β
All three sesssionsβone of Friday and the two session on Saturdayβare open to the public. Tickets are $7 for each session.Β

Friday's Preliminary Schedule:Β
- 10:30 a.m.: Pass gate ppensβdoors will not open prior to this time. Β There is no benefit for deck entry in arriving early.
- 10:30 a.m.: Tickets go on sale and admission gates open. No one may line up at the admission gate doors prior to this time.
- 12 p.m.: Deck opens to athletes, coaches and managersβorder based on number of entries
- 12:30 p.m.: Coaches meeting (lower level aerobics room)
- 1:15 p.m.: Swimming warm-ups and diving practice
- 3Β p.m.: Swimming preliminary competition begins
Saturday's Diving Competition and Swimming Finals
- 6:50 a.m.: Pass gate opens
- 7Β a.m.: Diving warm-ups begin
- 7:30Β a.m.: Diving tickets go on sale
- 8 a.m.: Admission gates open for diving
- 8 a.m.: Swimming Tickets go on sale
- 8 a.m.: Entry numbers are given to the first 1,000 Session 3 spectators. Please refer to the βSpectator Entry to Standsβ guidelines.
- 9:30 a.m.: Diving competition begins
- After diving: Diving awards presented
- After diving: Spectator stands are cleared and cleaned for Swimming Finals (Session 3)
- After diving: Admission gates open for Swimming Finals.Β Please refer to theΒ βSpectator Entry to Standsβ guidelines.
- 2 p.m.: Swimming warm-ups begin
- 3 p.m.: Swimming finals competition begins
