Voluntary Water Conservation Notice Lifted

St. Peters recently dropped a voluntary conservation notice after rainfall and the dwindling number of summer days.

The voluntary has been removed.Β 

On Friday the city of St. Peters said that, because of recent rainfallΒ and the seasonal reduction in water use, the notice has been lifted. St. Peters asked residents back on June 29 to cut back on non-essential usage like watering the lawn and washing cars.Β 

The city of St. Peters said that theΒ average day water consumption is approximately 5.7 million gallons per day. Before the voluntary water conservation notice, St. Peters water customers were consuming approximately 13 million gallons of water per day. According to St. Peters officials, after the notice was issued water customers conserved approximately two million gallons per day or approximately 15 percent.
