Josh Abeggβ:Β Josh Abegg was easily the ace of the Holt pitching staff. The Holt hurlerΒ had quite a year for the Indians. He picked up six wins on the year, tied for best in GAC South. His ERA was 1.07 for the year, good enough for third in the league. He picked up 53 strikeouts, good enough for fifth in the GAC South, but was third in the league with 8.07 strikeouts per game. His control was also impeccableβhis strikeout to walk ratio of 3.79 was third best in the South. Abegg also added three complete games and one shutout for the Indians. Β
Sam Chambersβ:Β Sam Chambers was part of aΒ potent Duchesne offense. Chambers sparked the Pioneers by getting on base early and often. Dan Gablerβ:Β Fort Zumwalt West's Dan GablerΒ didn't have the most winsΒ on the Jaguars' pitching staff, but he certainly put up sterling numbers. Gabler compiled a 4-2 record for West and was second in the GAC South with aΒ 1.02 WHIP and tied for the league high with two shutouts. His microscopic 0.93 ERA (just six earned runs in 45 innings of work) was second best in the league. Gabler struck out 44 batters, an average of 6.84 per game (fifth in the GAC South). His strikeout to walk ratio was tops in the league at 4.41βhe walked just 10 batters all season.Β
Gerrion Grimβ:Β From the mound and with a bat, Gerrion Grim did damage during his senior season as a Fort Zumwalt South Bulldog. Β Despite just a 3-5 record, Grim compiled a 2.90 ERA and led the conference in strikeouts (94βthe second-place finisher had just 50), innings pitched (72.3). He also had five complete games and two saves.Β With the bat,Β Grim led the GAC North in homers (4), triples (5) and RBIs (33).
