5 Ways St. Louis Residents Bid Goodbye to the Crestwood Mall

If you think music by Adele sums up your feelings for the now-shuttered Crestwood Court, we've got a video for you!

The closing of Crestwood Court earlier this month left residents all over St. Louis nostalgic for its better days. It was, after all, the area's first multi-anchor mall, and a hot spot for families and teens all over St. Louis County.

Considering all it's been through, your feelings on its closing may be mixed. (Some of you even thought it had already closed.) Hoards of people came by during the mall's last week open to take photos and have a last look around, and some of them chose to say their farewell publicly:

1. A video tribute featuring the music of Adele (above): I think the music choice is a little syrupy as a goodbye to a mall (you can view a 'natural sound' version of the video on YouTube), but I like the idea of having a 'soundtrack' that goes with mall memories. Is there a song that reminds you of the Plaza? Tell us in the comments.

2. YouTube user BlueRigel81 also shares a final video walk-through of the mall with personal commentary.

3. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch shared photos of mall walkers enjoying their last week in the space. My favorite is of Rita Wobbe passing out muffins to other walkers.

4. Flickr user katherine of chicago chose to show the mall when it was still "all stores, all smiles," including an old store directory and a mystery cup claw machine. (Looking for more older photos of the area? Check the photos from the "Crestwood/South County MO... back in the day" Facebook group!)

5. And of course, Patch shared a list of places mall walkers said they will go now to fulfill their exercise needs.
