Hazardous Household Waste Center Now Available to South County Residents
You can drop off old batteries, paint and other toxic materials year-round in Lemay.

The opening of the Saint Louis Household Hazardous Waste center means residents of St. Louis County, St. Louis City and Jefferson County can now drop off pool chemicals, pesticides, gas, oil, aerosol cans, paint—even light bulbs and batteries—all year round.
The center opened earlier this week at 291 E. Hoffmeister in Lemay, and will make the current once-a-year collection schedule obsolete, CBS St. Louis reports.
St. Louis County solid waste manager John Haasis tells CBS how materials are stored on the site, and when they get incinerated.
