Are You Ready to Walk for the Cure in Forest Park?
Wired Coffe and its customers are ready for JDRF's annual walk to cure Type 1 Diabetes on Sunday, Oct. 7. Will you be there to show your support?
JDRF, formerly known as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, is ready for its annual Walk for the Cure fundraiser in Forest Park on Oct. 7. Are you ready? Wired Coffee is, as evidenced by the JDRF balloons and sneakers decorating the coffee shop.
The non-profit is raising funds for Type I Diabetes (T1D) research. While the disease is commonly known as juvenile diabetes, JDRF Executive Director Marie Davis said they also offer support and resources to the 50 percent of sufferers diagnosed in adulthood. Their focus is not only identifying a medicinal cure, but prevention and treatment.
The event is expected to draw 25,000 participants this year. Learn more about the event at walk.jdrf.org.
