Meet the Crestwood-Sunset Chamber's New Member of the Year

Last week the Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce honored its 2012 Chamber Award Winners, including New Member of the Year Cindy Sykes. Sykes is the manager of Southpointe Apartments.

Cindy Sykes is a wife of 25 years and a mother of three children. After being a stay-at-home mom for 15 years, she went back to work full-time as a leasing consultant for Equity Residential. Her talents and abilities are evidenced by the fact that after only a year as a leasing consultant she was promoted to Assistant Manager, and then Property Manager one year after that. She currently manages Southpointe Apartments for Mills Properties, who took over as manager of the complex five years ago.

Cindy enjoys seeing the excitement when someone finds the perfect home, plus the opportunities the job gives to go above and beyond with service to her residents. Many residents return after living elsewhere, and many have been living there for 10+ years – proving that Southpointe Apartments is a great place to live. Thanks, in part, to Cindy and her efforts.

Cindy appreciates the opportunity the Chamber has offered her to be more involved in the community in which she works. She truly understands the value of giving back and has found that Chamber is a good avenue for this. She is also glad to offer her residents the additional resources that being involved in the Chamber brings.

Southpointe Apartments joined the Chamber in 2012 and Cindy hit the ground running – immediately joining the Golf Committee. She became a key member of the committee helping to host a memorable day of golf, food and fun. She attends most Chamber functions and brings a happy, positive force to every event. Her contagious smile and willingness to do whatever it takes to help out always enhance the experience for other Chamber members. We are proud to have her as a Chamber member and are most pleased to present her as the 2012 New Chamber Member of the Year. We look for great things from Cindy in the future.
