Police Find Stolen Credit Card After Arresting Crestwood Man in Separate Incident

Crestwood Police said James J. Barker used the card at two locations, including a Crestwood gas station.

A Crestwood man is accused of using a stolen credit card after being arrested in separate incident, police said.

James John Barker, 24, of the 8600 block of Park Crestwood, was charged Wednesday with receiving stolen property.

Crestwood Police said a man reported his wallet, along with several credit cards, had been stolen from his truck July 11. Police said the card had been used at two locations after being stolen, including the Mobil gas station at 9950 Big Bend Blvd. in Crestwood.

Police said Barker was arrested in an unrelated incident and officers found that Barker had a stolen credit card. Barker told police a friend had given him the card.

Barker had been sentenced to one year in county jail after pleading guilty in 2009 to a burglary in Crestwood.

Barker is being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center. Bail was set at $15,000.
