Stray Bearded Dragon Found In Crestwood Yard Finds New Home

Several residents know that Crestwood Animal Control operates its own shelter and facilitates adoptions with domestic pets (they event host adoption events), but some animal-related calls they receive are a bit stranger.

Animal Control Officer Nancy Hunt has dealt with raccoons at the public pool, a stalking duck, a baby fox stuck in a resident's fence, even a loose squirrel inside the UPS store.

Recently, Hunt was called to a resident's home to pick up a stray animal--a bearded dragon that had been hanging out on the property for two days. Hunt and volunteers posted flyers about the animal around the neighborhood while they kept him safe at their Whitecliff Park shelter.

Hunt said they ultimately found the bearded dragon a new home after he went unclaimed for 10 days.
