Sunset Hills Store Owner Helps Rescue Teens on Big River

Schaefer's Hobby Shop owner Art Schaefer and his cousin were on a property along Big River on Saturday, which was lucky for a group trapped in the current after their inner tube flipped over.

When four teenagers got swept up in the current of the Big River over the weekend, a Sunset Hills business owner, who happened to be nearby, sprung to get them help, according to a recent KSDK report.

The teens were riding down the river on an inner tube Saturday afternoon when it flipped over, according to KSDK. Art Schaefer, of Schaefer's Hobby Shop, told KSDK he and his cousin were on Schaefer's property nearby when they "heard a commotion."

Schaefer contacted 911 as two of the teens clung to trees. View Schaefer’s video of the scene at the river, including his reaction to the experience, on KSDK.
