USA Passport Day Saturday in Post Offices
Crestwood Plaza and Sappington are participating.
Since U.S. citizens must now present a valid passport when entering or re-entering the United States by air, land and sea, U.S. post offices are hosting an informational passport event on Sat., April 9.
Postal employees will offer passport information to U.S. citizens and accept passport applications.
Even when U.S. citizens enter the U.S. from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda, they must also present a passport book, passport card, or other travel documents approved by the U.S. government, typically including a photo.
Information on the cost and how to apply for a U.S. passport is available at travel.state.gov and by phone toll-free in both English and Spanish from the National Passport Information Center at 1-877-487-2778.
