Woman Reports 8 Fraudulent Credit Charges After Crestwood Schnucks Visit

The Mackenzie resident told Shrewsbury Police that $750 in merchandise was purchased in Pennsylvania.

A Mackenzie woman told Shrewsbury Police that $750 was charged to her credit card after a visit to Crestwood Schnucks.

On Friday, April 12, Shrewsbury Police investigated the fraudulent use of a credit device for a resident in the 7000 block of Rhodes Avenue, according to Shrewsbury Police reports.

The victim told police that she used her card at a Schnucks store in Crestwood and there were eight charges on her card on Thursday, April 11, with $750 of merchandise purchased at retail stores in Pennsylvania.  The woman had not traveled to Pennsylvania.

The Crestwood store was one of more than 50 St. Louis stores affected by a recent security breach.
