Family Owned Business Offers Extensive Showroom, Remodel Deals

Modern Kitchens and Baths, Inc. sits right off Mancester Road. Owner Michael DuPree says the store has been at that 14381 Manchester Road location since 1989, but the family-owned business has been operating in St. Louis since 1950. The first location still remains in South St. Louis on Kingshighway.

What seems like a small shop from the outside, offers an extensive showroom when you step inside the building. DuPree said it's a suprise his customers often comment about.

"They always go, 'Oh your showroom's so big. You have a lot on display.'" DuPree tells Patch. "I hear that all the time."

DuPree says his company can build or remodel almost "everything inside the home," including kitchens, baths, floors, wall tile, cabinets, wall removal, drywall and plumbing.

DuPree said the business specializes in remodeling 10x10 kitchens for under $3,200, which includes countertops, sink, faucet and cabinetry.

He said the greatest challenge at the Manchester location is customer parking, but parking is also offered behind the store.
