New City Clerk Named as Long-Time Town and Country Clerk Says Goodbye

After two decades, Town and Country's city clerk Pam Burdt attended her last board of aldermen meeting Monday. Her replacement, Ashley McNamara, officially took over the position.

It was an emotional Town and Country Board of Alderman meeting Monday as long-time City Clerk Pam Burdt bid farewell to a city she served for nearly 20 years.

As previously reported by Patch, Burdt began her decade's long career with the City of Town and Country in 1993 as an administrative assistant in the city's Planning Department. In 1996, she was elected as City Clerk by the Board of Aldermen. She retired from that position this month.

Ashley McNamara is replacing Burdt as city clerk. She was elected Monday night and has served as a Town and Country police clerk for the last eight years, according to city staff.

As Burdt attended her final meeting Monday, she was recognized by the mayor for her years of hard work.

As part of the proclamation read by Mayor Jon Dalton, Dalton said Burdt is a "friend to all, who will be missed, but never forgotten."

Burdt also addressed the crowd, including aldermen and many of her city staff co-workers.

"I'll never forget you," Burdt said. "I'll miss you all."

The city also held a celebration to honor Burdt last week, where her two sons reportedly made surprise appearances from out of town.
