Man’s Fifth DWI Charge Comes With Children In Tow

A man faces criminal charges for driving while intoxicated with his four children in the car with him on Manchester Road.

Jason Turnbough, 37, of Springfield, MO, was charged Aug. 20 with driving while intoxicated as a chronic offender, endangering children and driving while his license was revoked. The oldest child was 11 years old; the youngest was 1 year old.

said officers pulled Turnbough over at 3:35 p.m. Aug. 19 at 14300 Manchester Road in after they received a call saying that he was driving with an open container and children in his car.

Police said officers noticed Turnbough had slurred speech, a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, and bloodshot and glassy eyes. He also failed a field sobriety test and refused a breathalyzer test, according to court documents.

His driver's license had already been revoked.

Turnbough has had four previous DWI convictions. His last DWI conviction came in July 2010. He also was convicted of driving while revoked last May.

Bond was set at $20,000.
