Police Warn of Landscaping Scam in Manchester
One woman was reportedly scammed out of $700 after she called the number on a flier advertising landscaping service for her home.

A Manchester resident tells police a man posing as a contact person and the contractor for Holmes Landscaping scammed her out of $700.
Manchester Police Captain Charles Hunn tells Patch the woman just contacted police on June 11, but her check was actually cashed on May 22.

The resident, who lives in the 400 block of Marie Lane, told police she called the number on a flier she received offering landscaping services.

"Apparently she negotiated to have some landscaping work done and was given a verbal bid of $1,400," Hunn tells Patch. "She gave him a $700 check to be used as a downpayment."
Now the check is cashed and the work has not been done.
All attempts to contact the company by the resident and police have been unsuccessful, according to Hunn.
