Thieves Target Cars in Town and Country Parking Lots

Town and Country police are alerting residents to six weekend incidents where cars were broken into in local parking lots.

The following information was supplied by the Town and Country Police Department.

Town and Country police are investigating after six cars were broken into this Saturday and Sunday. Thieves struck parking lots, inlcuding Town and Country Crossing and Charter Commons.

Police sent out the following email alert to local businesses Monday afternoon.

The Town and Country Police Department would like to inform you of some thefts from our parking lots along the interstate corridor over the past weekend. Five (5) reported incidents involving thefts from vehicles occurred on Saturday evening and one on Sunday. Two black males occupying a black VW Jetta were observed at the scene of one of the crimes and they were also observed at the scenes of similar crimes in other jurisdictions. The Town and Country incidents are summarized below:

On April 13th between 3:40 pm and 11:45 pm five (5) vehicles were entered:

 

-          Two (2) vehicles at 941 Charter Commons. Forced entry was made into both vehicles, which were “ransacked” and a tool bag and coat were taken

-          At 1054 Town and Country Crossing Drive forced entry was made into a Chevy Avalanche and the interior ransacked. A Swiss Army bag containing a Lenova Laptop computer and a Microsoft Surface Table were taken

-          At 1850 De La Salle Drive forced entry was made into a 2008 Chevy Impala and the interior was ransacked. Nothing was taken

-          At 14306 South Outer Forty Drive a witness reported seeing two black males in his friend’s pickup truck. The witness yelled at the suspects and the 2 B/Ms fled from the scene in a black VW Jetta. Nothing was taken. The pickup was unlocked

On April 14th between 7:00 am and 4:30 pm at 1951 Des Peres Road (Gateway Christian Church) an unlocked Jeep was entered and the faceplate to the car’s stereo was taken.

Police urge residents to call 911 if they observe any suspicious people, vehicles or activity in their neighborhoods or contact Town and Country police dispatch at 314-737-4600.
