YMCA Names Parkway Central Grad as 'Youth of The Year'

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the YMCA of Greater St. Louis named Jordan Deitering, 17, of Chesterfield, as the 2013 Joseph P. Sunnen Youth of the Year.

According to the Post's article, Deitering was surprised to receive the award, but said she worked hard to reach such an accomplishment.

Deitering reportedly volunteered at the YMCA and is now a part-time employee there. The Lindenwood University freshman also graduated from Parkway Central High School in 2012, according to the Post-Dispatch.

Deitering received her award earlier this month.
