Brick by Chance and Fortune to Play University City Public Library

Brick by Chance and Fortune: a St. Louis Story,Β a film by Bill Streeter, will be screened at 6:30 p.m.Β Thursday, Aug. 8, atΒ theΒ University City Public Library.
This event will kick off the CALOP Film series. CALOP, the University City Commission for Access and Local Original Programming, has given out grants to make films with funding from U Cityβs cable subscribers.Β
Β BrickΒ by Chance and FortuneΒ tells the story of St. Louis through its rich heritage of brick architecture. Home to some of the largest and most innovative clay-working companies of the nineteenth century, you can still see some of the finest examples of brick work ever produced all over the city and region, according to a release.Β

Streeter is an award-winning filmmaker who has produced videos for MTV, Mountain Dew, and Village Voice Media.Β
Streeter; Michael Allen, an architectural historian who appeared in the film; and Alderman Sam Moore of the Ville neighborhood will be there to participate in a question-and-answer session.
