Former U City Lion David Bass Aiming for the NFL

University City High School graduate David Bass is heading to the 2013 NFL Scouting Combine. 

The senior at NCAA Division II Missouri Western State University received the invite after an impressive week at the East-West Shrine game in January, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Missouri Western offered Bass a full scholarship after his senior year at UCHS in 2007.

Following a redshirt season in ’08, Bass started a school-record 50 consecutive games over the next four seasons. He finished with a school-record 40½ career sacks, including 11½ this past season and 14½ in 2011, the Post reported.
