Free Tire Recycling Collection Is May 19

The cities of Pagedale, Wellston and are partnering to host a free tire recycling collection event for residents on Saturday, May 19, at Pagedale City Hall, 1420 Ferguson Avenue (parking lot), from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The collection will accept up to 10 tires per vehicle. 

• Accepted: Car and light duty truck tires, with or without rims.
• Not accepted: Tires from businesses, oversized or tractor tires.

Hundreds of waste tires have been illegally dumped or stockpiled in all three communities. Proper disposal reduces the threat to public health, safety and the environment.

Recycled tires are used in many ways, including, rubberized asphalt for highways and roads, playground cover, flooring/matting, landfill construction and soil additives. Hundreds of products now contain recyclable tire rubber.
