Get Out: Great Forest Park Balloon Race Is This Weekend

The 41st annual Forest Park Balloon Glow and Race is this weekend. The free Balloon Glow will light up the night sky Friday evening at Central Field in Forest Park and the race starts Saturday afternoon.

The inclement weather date for the race is Sunday, Sept. 22.

The Humane Society of Missouri will hold its Glow in the Park event Friday in conjunction with the Balloon Glow. Patrons have a chance to enjoy cocktails, dinner, dancing and fireworks alongside the illuminated hot air balloons. For more information, call 314-951-1501.

For those that want to watch the race Saturday away from the crowds in Forest Park, the Moonrise Hotel is holding a watch party on its rooftop terrace in the Delmar Loop. The Moonrise is starting the party at 3 p.m. with no cover charge, drink specials and plenty of seating. To learn more about this event, check out the Moonrise's Facebook event page.
