No one has stepped forward yet, but the Associated Press is reporting that two winning tickets were sold for last night's Powerball lottery. The AP says the winning Powerball ticketsΒ came from Missouri and Arizona.
TheΒ winning numbersΒ areΒ 5, 16, 22, 23, 29 with the Powerball number of 6, according to the Powerball website.Β
Missouri Lottery officials say the winning ticket came from the Kansas City area. An exact store location will be released later today, according to spokeswoman Susan Goedde.

βIt is so exciting to sell one of these Powerball tickets,β said May Scheve Reardon, executive director of the Missouri Lottery, in a press release. βIn addition, we sold two tickets that matched all five white balls, which means they each win $1 million. Three millionaires in one night is a wonderful night!β
Reardon noted in the release that Missouri has had the second most Powerball jackpot winners, behind Indiana.Β βWith last nightβs jackpot winner, we are up to 27,β said Reardon.

TheΒ Powerball lotteryΒ drawing took placeΒ Wednesday night at 9:59 p.m. Central time.Β A live drawingΒ was available on hundreds of TV stations and on YouTube.
Each Powerball ticket cost $2. Players chose five numbers plus a sixth Powerball number. Players matching all six numbers can select an annuitized amount paid out over 29 years or a lump sum payment. For complete details,Β visit the Powerball website.
In an article on theΒ St. Louis Post-Dispatch, one St. Louis-area man is quoted as saying, βIβve lost a lot of money on it. I could just throw it down the toilet, but I can dream just like the rest of them.β
Since the last drawing on Nov. 24, the Powerball jackpot has grown by over $100 million to a recordΒ $580 million. The estimated cash payout is $379.8 million. The last set of winning numbers was drawn on Oct. 16.
