Key Carter Is the U City Support Person of the Year

The has named Key Carter of as the 2012-2013 University City Educational Support Person of the Year.
Carter has been a custodian in the School District of University City since 2008 and has worked at Jackson Park, Β and Elementary Schools.Β
βI try to encourage the students to do the right thing, and they know I want them to be successful,β wrote Carter in his personal statement after being nominated for the award. βThe students are aware of everything that takes place in the building, and I do my best to set a good example.β

Colleagues describe him as always having a positive attitude, going above and beyond the call of duty, and doing whatever is necessary to support students in the District.
βMr. Carter is a friend to all he encounters and a role model for our children, parents, and fellow staff,β said Elliott Shostak, principal of Jackson Park Elementary School. βHis strong work ethic is unmatched. He is always upbeat and has a kind word for others.β
