Mayor Looking For Urban Forestry Commission Candidates
Mayor Welsch is looking for someone from the third ward to appoint to the Urban Forestry Commission.

UNIVERSITY CITY, MO — University City Mayor Shelley Welsch is looking for a third-ward resident to appoint to the Urban Forestry Commission, she posted on her Facebook page Wednesday.
The Urban Forestry Commission is charged with protecting the city's trees, according to the University City's website. The board must adopt an annual community forestry plan, which will be voted on by the city council. The board meets on the second Wednesday of every other month.
"I am replacing a Ward 3 resident and would prefer to replace him with another resident of that ward to help maintain ward balance on the commission," the mayor wrote. "But, if I cannot find anyone from Ward 3 who wants to serve in this capacity, I will consider appointment of a resident from another ward."
