Mayor's List of Opportunities For Giving In U-City
Mayor Shelley Welsch posted a list of local charities and non-profit organizations that do work in University City.

UNIVERSITY CITY, MO — Mayor Shelley Welsch has written a 2017 giving guide to encourage donations to charities and non-profits that do work in University City. She posted it Sunday to Facebook and included it in her weekly newsletter.
"In the holiday season, many of us receive letters from non-profit organizations in our region, asking for financial support at the end of the year," Welsch said. "For many if not most of us, we are limited in how much we can donated. So, I encourage you to consider the following University City organizations when you are planning your year-end giving. Please support the community organizations that do so much to support U-City."

"Finally," Mayor Welsch said, "if you give microcredit loans through Kiva.org , I encourage you to sign up for the U City Microcredit Club. This club was one of the earliest municipality-specific teams in the entire Kiva microcredit program and has made more than $49,000 worth of small loans to people who do not have traditional banking access."
