McKinney, Reed Named SDUC Teacher, Support Person of the Year

The School District of University City announced its 2013-14 teacher and educational support person of the year Wednesday.

Superintendent Joylynn Pruitt and other administrators surprised 2013-2014 Teacher of the Year and Educational Support Personnel of the Year.

The teacher of the year is Brittany Wood's Middle School math teacher Byron McKinney.

The Educational Support Personnel of the Year is Marion Reed, a science curator at Barbara C. Jordan Elementary School.

Reed is a University City High School graduate who has worked in the district for years.

"I'm just ecstatic," she said. "I can't believe it."
