MoDOT Ready For Predicted Wintry Mix

The tells Patch its crews have been pretreating roads in preparation for the wintry mix predicted to hit St. Louis and surrounding areas Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service, light snow, sleet and rain is forecasted for the area.

KMOV is reporting Wednesday's weather and freezing temperatures may cause a potentially dangerous situation and icy roads. What is starting as rain may turn to possible sleet and snow.

MoDOT Spokesperson Kara Price stated in an email that MoDOT is ready for the forecasted winter weather with crews pre-treating roads and bridges with salt brine. Price said MoDOT is monitoring the weather forecast and has full crews, 460 employees and 204 trucks, on standby for Wednesday's possible storm.

She said road crews will focus on interstates first.
