Pot Seized During Traffic Stop Leads to Investigation of St. Louis Police Officers

A police offer took marijuana from a driver during a traffic stop but it was never put into evidence, St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal was present on a ride-along during the incident.

A University City legislator who was on a ride-along with St. Louis City police officers in February witnessed a potential violation of department policy, according to a recent report from St. Louis Post-Dispatch.Β

An investigation has been opened to determine if two police officers who seized marijuana during a traffic stop, but did not catalogue the evidence, will face disciplinary action or criminal charges, the Post-Dispatch reports.

Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal was on the ride-along with officers the day of the incident to research a firearms-related bill, they report.
