Reports: Arrest Made in Wash U Attempted Abduction
A man has been charged in connection with the August attempted abduction.

St. Louis County Police have arrested a man in connection with an attempted abduction at Washington University.Β
A student at Wash U reported the abduction attempt in August. The victim said the man approached at knivepoint and forced her to withdraw money from multiple ATMs.

According to KMOV,Β William James Cobbins, 22, was charged with first-degree robbery and kidnapping.
Police said Cobbins told her he had a knife and demanded she drive to several ATMS in St. Louis to withdraw money from her bank account.Β Authorities said Cobbins eventually got out of the victimβs vehicle somewhere in the city of St. Louis.Β

Police said the victim was able to identify Cobbins after he was caught on Metro Link and campus security cameras, KMOV reported. He was arrested Monday.
His bond was set at $75,000.
