Restaurant Roundup: Jilly's Introduces Ice Cream, Veggie Fare at Vernon's

A dessert favorite is expanding its menu and a barbecue joint offers something for vegetarians.

Jilly's Now Offers Ice Cream

Jilly's Cupcake Bar, already known nation-wide for its cupcakes, is introducing ice cream. The two-time Cupcake Wars winning bakery has four new ice cream flavors, based on its cupcakes, available at its Delmar location. The flavors are:

• 24 Karat Cake —  Carrot Cake & Cream Cheese Ice Cream with Jilly’s Carrot Cake Morsels, Swirls of Cream Cheese Icing, Toasted Coconut, Sugar Roasted Walnuts, White Chocolate Shavings & 24 Karat Gold Dust 
• Cuban Coffee —  Cuban Coffee Ice Cream with Jilly’s Coffee Chip Cake Morsels, Dark Chocolate Shavings, Swirls of Espresso Buttercream & Toffee Dulce de Leche
• Island in the Sun — Fresh Mango Ice Cream with Jilly’s Pineapple Cake Morsels, Brown Sugar Roasted Pineapple, White Chocolate Shavings & Swirls of Mango Buttercream
• Space Monkey —  Chocolate-Banana Ice Cream with Jilly’s Banana-Toffee Cake Morsels, Toffee Bits & Swirls of Caramel & Cream Cheese Icing
