Special Council Session Friday to Vote on Tax Levy
A public hearing was held Monday and the city council must vote to approve by Oct. 1.

The University City City Council will hold a special meeting at 8 a.m. Friday morning to vote on the city's property tax levy.
The city held a public hearing on the proposed rates Monday at the regular council meeting. No one from the public spoke during the hearing.
Edward McCarthy, a University City resident, questioned the council during the citizen comment portion of the meeting after the public hearing. McCarthy asked when the council planned to vote on the tax rates.

Cities are required to vote on the rates and turn them in to St. Louis County by Oct. 1.Â
In order to meet the deadline, the city council will hold a special meeting at 8 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, in the second floor conference room.Â
